Two updates to StorytellerOS, the all-in-one author platform created by IAM publisher Chelle Honiker, are expanding how authors market their work and track their sales in the site.
The platform consists of multiple studios to aid authors in every stage of publishing and promoting a book. The first update, in the Sales Studio, brings Publisher Champ’s sales dashboards to StorytellerOS. The integration launched this week and allows authors to track sales data from across platforms within the site the same way they could from their Publisher Champ account.
The second update, to Social Studio, allows authors to batch-create and schedule social posts in Reader Radius using their ChatGPT account—and authors can create ChatGPT Ads with the platform’s Ads Management Studio.
Note: Indie Author Magazine, Indie Author Training, and our other sister sites maintain a neutral stance on artificial intelligence. In our coverage, we seek to provide an objective, informative take on the technology, and we encourage authors to make decisions about whether to use AI platforms based on their personal values and what’s best for their business.
StorytellerOS is currently available in beta for $149 per month, with the price increasing to $249 when it is officially released. Those interested in the platform can learn more and explore its features at https://storytelleros.com. StorytellerOS also allows users to disable AI features entirely from the settings page.
A final note from a different IAM sister site: The Wide for the Win Summit, hosted by Indie Author Training, is next week. Have you registered yet? The event takes place October 9 and 10 with a mix of free and paid opportunities for attendees. Day 1 will be free to attend and cover the state of wide publishing and how the strategy can benefit authors. Day 2 will include paid workshops and resources to help attendees set up their business with hands-on help and guidance from experts. This Week’s Indie Author Magazine Articles
It may seem as if there is some secret to success for those six-figure-earning authors who juggle their businesses with writing the next book. But a day in each of their lives can look very different. So what helps these authors find balance? Dakota Krout, Sacha Black, and David Viergutz share the key priorities each of these authors have set for themselves and their employees to keep their businesses running smoothly.

In the spring of 2026, the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) reimagined the organization’s online author directory to make it easier for readers to browse independently published books. But ALLi’s Indie Author Bookstore isn’t just a tool for readers—or for ALLi members. This week’s ALLi Exclusive explores how both ALLi members and non-members can make the most of the new platform—and what it may represent about the growing impact indie authors have on the publishing industry.

More Indie Publishing News
Here’s a look beyond our pages at the latest headlines and happenings in the publishing world.
- Draft2Digital now allows authors to create preorders through its Smashwords Store, the platform announced in a press release earlier this week. Authors will be able to list preorders on the platform up to twelve months ahead of a book’s publication, and all orders accumulated in that time will count toward a book’s sales data on release day, giving the book an additional boost in the Smashwords Store's algorithm, according to Draft2Digital. Read more about the update here: https://draft2digital.com/blog/press-releasedraft2digital-announces-ebook-preorder-sales-now-available-at-the-smashwords-store.
- Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing updated its submission guidelines page last week week, limiting the number of titles an author can create to two per format per week. Authors have confirmed the limit applies upon setup rather than release, so it will not apply to books whose preorders are set within the same week. However, for those publishing translations simultaneously, the limitations do tally across marketplaces, meaning authors will need to stagger release dates or schedule book releases ahead of time using preorder campaigns. Authors can learn more about KDP’s guidelines at https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/G201857950.
- Meta One, Meta’s new subscription service, announced a new limitation for Facebook Pages in September. The new subscription tier system, announced September 15 and rolling out gradually, limits Facebook Pages without a Meta One subscription and those in lower paid tiers to posting links in two organic posts or comments a month. The number increases for those in higher tiers of the subscription service. Currently, the link limitation does not apply to Reels, Facebook Groups, or Facebook Messenger.
